Random acts of kindness have been brought to my attention recently and it really doesn’t take much to make a positive difference to someone else’s life. Im on a community Facebook page where ‘crafty nan’ knits all sorts of different things and leaves them hidden for children to find when they are out and about which brings a lot of joy to those who find them. Ive recently seen comments about people paying for others coffee or buying the person behind thems lunch for them …. whilst these are lovely things to do out of the blue you dont need to spend a lot to do a random act of kindness.
Noticing your elderly neighbour is struggling with their shopping and helping them, taking a friends child to school as their mum isn’t feeling well, picking something up someone has dropped and returning it to them are all random acts of kindness.
Kindness is so important and as we come to understand the importance of being heart centred and heart led it will become more and more natural to be kind to everyone. We do not know the journey that the person passing us in the street or in front of us in the queue at the supermarket is experiencing so anything we can do to bring a smile to someone else’s face and lift them will have a knock on effect to many others as they go and tell their friends and loved ones of the kindness that was bestowed upon them. That little act of kindness might just be enough to lift their mood so that they too are kind to others.
A kind word, a kind hug, a kind smile, kind assistance with something costs nothing except a little bit of your time. As the lyrics of the song spread a little happiness say ….”Even when the darkest clouds are in the sky
You mustn’t sigh and you mustn’t cry
Spread a little happiness as you go by”
Its something that all of us can easily do!
