One of my favourite quotations is;
‘A physician once said, “the best medicine for humans is love” and someone asked, “What if it doesn’t work?” He smiled and said, ” increase the dose”‘ Anonymous
Love is so important and when we learn to love ourselves unconditionally we find that we are then able to love others unconditionally as well. I have been asked by many people, ‘how do I learn to love myself?”, and my answer is usually along the lines of, by identifying what is truly important to you and will make your heart and soul sing. How do we identify this ? By going inward and reconnecting with ourselves so that we can identify what upsets us about ourselves and so prevents us from loving ourselves. Once we have identified and acknowledged the issues we are more able to heal them on a deep level. Then we need to recognise that we are responsible for ourselves, our well being, our emotions and our behaviours and so we can choose whether we respond or react to a situation. Then by recognising that we are important we can ensure that we put our needs first, from a loving perspective, as when we have experiences that make us happy, then everyone around us benefits.
People have been programmed to look for fulfilment outside of themselves and so get caught up in goal based achievement and wanting bigger and better in the material world. They try to feed the void from the outside, never quite sorting it out. It is only when you go within and address the issues that make you unhappy that you will be able to find the love that is within you and once you reconnect with yourself and the love of Source you will find that the simplest of things will make you happy.
Our purpose is not to be bigger and better than anyone else it is to love unconditionally. Every act of kindness, compassion and love aligns you with your true purpose. When the most mundane of tasks is done with a loving heart it puts a whole new perspective on things and keeps you on track.
When we work from the heart we are more intuitive and when we are heart led as well as heart centred we are able to reach our creative potential. Creativity is so much more than the arts, it is working with your heart, soul and intuition so that everything that you do, say and think is heart centred, heart led and for the highest good, this is how we are truly meant to be. When we allow ourselves to be guided by our heart and soul we open ourselves up to opportunities that we might have previously thought were impossible.
When you learn to love yourself, truly loving others comes naturally. If everyone turned inward and addressed their own issues, the love they would find would change everything. We are living in challenging times but these challenges are to push us to go inwards and find the love that is within each and everyone of us. It has always been there, we just need to reconnect with it. If we want to live in a more loving world then we need to be the change that we want to see. The more love that we give to ourselves the easier it is to be loving to others and to see things from a place of love. Don’t let ego get in your way, as it will push you back into your head; learn to drop into your heart and see what resonates with you and what feels correct as this will be how your heart and soul will guide you forward.
As we move into 2022 lets make it a year full of love and when things don’t seem to be going as you expected remember that it is more love that is needed! Find that love within you and allow it to ripple out and touch the hearts of everyone that you connect with.
